Residents are being asked for their views to help shape the future of Duke Street Park, Formby and time is nearly up for making your suggestions.
A small amount of funding is currently available to undertake some improvement works in the park. There are many works that could be undertaken but, we do not have sufficient funds to do everything at the moment however, before any decisions are made, we would like to seek your views on what type of improvement works or additional features you might like to see in the park (both for this year and for future years).
A number of drop in sessions are being held to gauge people's opinions on what type of improvement works or additional features they might like to see in the popular park.
The second session takes place at Formby Swimming Pool on Wednesday, February 25th between 3pm-6pm where staff will be available to discuss the park and gather any suggestions and comments made.
Councillor Catie Page who is the community and safety partnership commitee chairman said:
“People want everything from improving existing facilities to adding new features. One suggestion was for a cycle track to run the full perimeter of the park.
“The suggestions were really creative and we are now going through all of the submissions.”
Some of the suggestions will be presented at a follow-up meeting to be held later this month at Formby Pool.
Cllr Page added: “The second stage of this process is another meeting when we will discuss all the suggestions and then decide on which projects are viable.
“This whole process is about making sure that the decisions are being made by the community itself. We want the people who live here and those who use Duke Street Park to decide on what they want. There really is not much time left.
