Stars turn out for the Marina Dalglish Grand Ball at Formby Hall Golf Club.....

Comedian John Bishop and Coronation Street’s Brooke Vincent were among the stars that turned out for the Marina Dalglish Grand Ball.

Marina Dalglish’s star-studded event, which was held at the Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa, raised over £250,000 for people living with cancer and their families in Merseyside.

Kenny and Marina Dalglish welcomed Liverpool legends Alan Hansen and Gary Gillespie, along with John Bishop and his wife Melanie and Coronation Street’s Brooke Vincent and Antony Cotton.

Marina endured Breast Cancer back in 2003 and has since made it her mission to improve cancer care across Merseyside through The Marina Dalglish Appeal.

Marina said: “Kenny and I are again overwhelmed by the generosity of guests who dug deep into their pockets on the night and also everyone who contributed to the raffle and auction”.

The celebrity-filled event took on a striking black and gold theme created by Taylor Lynn Corporation, with guests entertained by the well-known Swann band who flew in from Geneva especially for the event.

Aside from a three course meal served by hostesses including volunteer patients and staff from The Marina Dalglish Centre, guests also enjoyed midnight Scottish pies that were requested by Kenny.

The outstanding £250,000 was raised through an auction, which was undoubtedly helped by Boodles who supported the event and donated a gold and diamond Blossom ring to kick off the night.

Other prizes that were up for grabs were a Bentley Continental GTC V8, Emirates Business class flights to Dubai, and a chance to take part in a movie being shot in Blackpool starring Timothy Spall and Juno Temple.
