My client are looking for an experienced Estimator/Vehicle Damage Assessor to join their busy team at one of their large, successful bodyshops.
Main Job Role:
Be part of the Estimating department, ensuring estimates are produced accurately and using the correct vehicle repair methods. Produce the daily required number of hours for the workshop. Maintain good relationships with Insurance Engineers and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
v Produce "right first time" estimates ensuring all accident damage has been estimated for.
v Produce the required number of estimates to ensure the workshop has sufficient work at all times, and can achieve the hours claimed/sold budget.
v Ensure all estimates have the correct "recognised repair methods" attached, including information regarding torque settings and SRS safety procedures.
v Monitor the average repair cost in order to maximise the profit opportunities in terms of margins and also PRP possibilities.
v Maintain good working relationships with Insurance and Independent engineers.
v Monitor repairs in the workshop, to ensure repair methods are being followed correctly.
v Produce estimates using Audatex or Glassmatix and obtain authority from Insurers.
v Update customers after initial estimate, advising them of work to be done and "Estimated Completion Date" for the repairs, update management system with notes to support telephone call.
v Use customer contact call as opportunity to offer private work and/or additional services available. I.e. Tyres, Servicing etc.
v Work with Branch Administrator to ensure updates are done in a timely manner to allow daily invoicing targets to be achieved.
v Provide technical support to Customer Service department, when dealing with Insurance companies or customers who need technical details of repairs.
v Update estimates for any additional work, and ensure authority obtained to carry out this work.
Personal Specification:
v You must be ATA accredited in VDA.
v Previous experience in an Estimating role, and knowledge / expertise in all Bodyshop repair processes.
v Be able to demonstrate a history of producing quality repair estimates.
v Have a sound understanding of the financial elements of an estimate, and how to maximise profit opportunities.
v Be a good communicator, negotiator, and have excellent telephone manner.
v Have a working knowledge of Audatex, Escribe, Glassmatix estimating systems.
v Be able to work under pressure, and still produce quality estimates.
v IT Literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and email.
v Be flexible and able to work without supervision or work as part of a team.
v Demonstrates a focus on quality and customer satisfaction with a right first time approach.
v Has ability to identify potential 3rd party referral opportunities.
v Has ability to "charm and sell"
