Beryl Carr to Formby Bubble.....
Does anyone out there, remember the beautiful Pavilion on the Formby Park, where you could sit on one side and watch the Bowlers, or on the other side, watch the tennis, It was burned down by a Vandal in the 80's and was too expensive to replace. Does anyone have a Photograph of it. it would be great to see it again.
Replies.....
Thelma Stopforth: Yes I do, it was lovely, but sorry no photograph.
Lynda Lynch: Moved here in 1973 but don't remember it, or its demise.
Adam Lewis: I remember it well. You could sit on benches and watch tennis on the Duke St side or Bowls on the Philips lane side. I believe it burnt down sometime in the early 80s.
Margaret Lynch: Found this photo on Southport gb. (Thatched pavillion Duke Street Park)
Formby Bubble: Thanks Margaret.
Beryl Carr: This is lovely, Thank you Margaret,, Although this is a drawing, and not an identical image of the Pavilion, it is near enough , and will jolt a lot of local memories.
Cathy Waters: Yes I do. Went there as a teenager.
