Formby Library is holding an evening of original poetry with special readings by local authors.
Published poet Stephen Beattie will be joined by Phil McNulty and Lorraine Darcy to read and perform some of their own poems on Thursday, January 29 from 6-8pm.
During the evening, it will also be an opportunity for budding poets to discuss and learn about writing and publishing.
The following Thursday (February 5), intrepid explorer Duncan Snell will be giving a talk about his trip to Mount Everest.
Duncan's talk is called Everest - A Trek in the Himalaya and looks at 16 days of adventure at the Everest base camp.
The talks starts at at 2pm and includes a slideshow and a display of equipment used as part of the trek.
Both events form part of National Libraries Week and booking is essential. To secure a place on either, please phone Formby Library on 01704 874177 or email Formby. Library@sefton.gov.uk.
