We’ve asked our customers what they really want in a local shop, that they’re not getting anywhere else. The result is the brilliant M local concept, which has been a huge success, we already have over 100 stores and are rolling out lots more in the coming years.

Focused on fresh food and friendly service, we’re bringing the bustle back to the high street. We’re open from 6am to 11pm so that customers can whizz in on their way to work or when they’re hurrying home and can still get the same freshness, value and service as during normal opening hours.

More a local shop than a supermarket but with the same budget friendly prices, our store teams are a family of helpful and happy people who know customers by name and have a wide range of skills. Wherever there’s a job to be done in store they can do it thanks to their training and the support of our award winning Morrisons Academy.

What will I do?

• you’ll be part of a small, enthusiastic and multi-skilled team

• at any one time there may only be 3 of you on the shop floor, so it’s down to you to deliver truly great customer service

• you’ll help increase sales performance, whilst reducing waste

• one minute you could be on a check-out, another on Fresh to Go (in-store food preparation) or lending a hand unloading deliveries

M locals are different for customers and colleagues. Fresh produce and fresh thinking are what makes them work. And people with fresh ideas too.

What skills and experience do I need?

• have some customer service experience, ideally in a retail environment

• be happy to work to deadlines and multi task

• be a good communicator

• have a naturally friendly and helpful way with customers
