Information highlighting refuse and recycling collections over Christmas and the New Year period will be delivered to properties across the borough.
For residents who have a wheelie bin collection, stickers showing Christmas and New Year collection dates will be placed on the bins over the next two weeks. This will start the week commencing December 9.
Similar to other years, the green wheelie bin collection for garden waste is now suspended and will resume in 2015.
Individual letters which show collection dates will also start being delivered during December to more than 14,000 properties that receive a weekly sack collection. These highlight arrangements for refuse and recycling collections during the Christmas period.
Cllr Trish Hardy, Cabinet Member Communities and Environment, said: "Please look out for the letters arriving in the next week or so and the stickers being placed on wheelie bins as they hold very important information about refuse and recycling collections over Christmas and New Year.
"The letters and stickers are specific to individual properties and have details of refuse and recycling collections which will alter slightly for many people over the Christmas period. Please spend some time reading them.
"During and after the Christmas period we all tend to generate extra waste yet so much of this can be recycled. As ever please think about recycling it rather than just putting it in the grey bin and make your Christmas a greener one."
