Merseyrail trains will provide a late night weekend service ahead of Christmas
Merseyrail is to run late night weekend train services on the run-up to Christmas.
The rail operator said there will be two trains, one to Southport and one to Hooton, both leaving in the early hours of the morning from Liverpool Central Station.
The late night services will run on Sunday, December 7, Sunday, December 14, Saturday, December 20, and Sunday, December 21.
Passengers will only be allowed to board services at Liverpool Central, and stops will be limited. The fare will be a flat rate of £3.
The Northern Line service will operate from Liverpool Central to Southport and will leave at 1.30am, arriving at Southport at 2.04am, stopping only to drop off passengers at Waterloo and Formby.
On the Wirral Line, trains will run from Liverpool Central to Hooton, leaving Central at 1.30am and arriving at Hooton at 1.52am.
