Merseyside Police is currently recruiting for Special Constables. If you are looking for a unique opportunity to develop new skills and meet new people, the Special Constabulary may be the role you are looking for.
Special constables are volunteer police officers, who come from all walks of life. They work alongside regular officers and PCSOs in the local neighbourhood policing teams and play a vital role in supporting the work of the police and the community. Once they have completed their training, they have the same powers and wear the same uniform as regular officers.
Joining the Specials can give you the chance to make a real difference to your community, and enhance your skills. However, it is a demanding role, and we ask that you give up at least 16 hours of your spare time each month, but the role opens up all sorts of opportunities.
If you think you are up to the challenge, you can register to attend our next recruitment evening.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We will be hosting a Recruitment event for applicants to the role of Special Constable on Wednesday 3rd December, from 7.00pm – 9.00pm in the Lecture Theatre, Police Headquarters, Canning Place, Liverpool.
The event will give an insight into the rewarding role of a Special Constable. We'll take you through the recruitment and training processes and will have experienced Special Constables on hand to give you an insight into what it is like to be a Special Constable within the Force.
Unfortunately candidates who have not registered and turn up for the event will be turned away due to restricted capacity.
