OPEN AUDITION IN SOUTHPORT - 21st November – ARE YOU THE NEXT TRACY TURNBLAD?

ARE YOU THE NEXT TRACY TURNBLAD………..

If so, BOS Musical Theatre Company would love to hear from you. Open auditions for the society’s next production HAIRSPRAY the Broadway Musical will be held on Friday 21st November 2014 at the Temperance Institute, London Street, Southport from 6.30pm onwards.

Tracy is a pleasantly plump teenager with a big heart who has dreams of being a dancing star (as soon as she’s out of detention for her big hair) who resides in Baltimore, Maryland. She is offered a spot on the Corny Collins Show, and she uses her newly found fame to teach Baltimore a thing or two about integration. When she is entered in the Miss Hairspray Contest and competes against the beautiful Amber Von Tussle, she gives Baltimore her best and helps the Corny Collins show become officially integrated!

The Introductory Meeting will take place on Tuesday 4th November at the Temperance Institute, London Street, Southport starting at 7.45pm when you will have the opportunity to meet the production team, obtain audition pieces and find out about the show! There are also several pre-audition rehearsals taking place every following Tuesday and Friday leading up to audition day when prospective cast members may obtain information and learn the audition music and dance.

Other Principal and Chorus roles are also up for grabs! The society is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated people over the age of 14 years who would be interested in joining the company. They need a mix of people to play white/Caucasian and black/African-American teenagers. No prior experience is required. The show may appeal to Performing Arts students with a keen interest in musical theatre.
