Passengers travelling further afield over Christmas face rail misery due to major improvement works between Watford Junction and London Euston.
There will be no trains on Christmas Day and Boxing Day and a severely reduced service on December 27 and 28, meaning longer journeys for those heading south.
That weekend, Virgin Trains are advising passengers travelling between Liverpool and London to go via Nuneaton and Leicester.
