This is a stock photo of a Japanese Akita Dog
On Monday a man was walking on Larkhill Lane fields with is dog when they suffered an unprovoked attack from what they beleive to be a Japanese Akita dog. This dog knocked over the man and viciously attacked his dog wounding the dogs eye and neck. This is what Aison Campbell said about her husbands attack...."Just wanted to warn anyone who walks their dog on the Larkhill Lane fields . On Monday, my husband was walking my daughters French bulldog on the lead , when they were both the victim of an unprovoked attack by a Japanese Akita ( we think) , this dog was on a lead but the walker couldn't control it, it has wounded our dog above her eye, at her neck and on her side ( now on antibiotics and anti inflammatories ) , as well as knocking my husband ( all 6 ft 2 of him) to the floor and going for him in an effort to get to our dog! The walker said the dog wasn't his , he was walking it for a friend! But I don't know what to believe . The police have been informed and are taking the incident very seriously !
Just be very careful, it could have been a lot worse , imagine what it could do to a child!"
Please be vigilant and never approach dogs that you dont know.
