Success for Formby A Level students

STUDENTS in Formby are celebrating another successful year of A Level results, after receiving their grades last week (Thursday August 14)Almost half of Formby High School students gained top grades (A* to B grades).Amongst this year’s individual successes at Formby High are Imogen Christopher, Thomas Chung and Charlie Blanchard, who each received two A grades and an A*, whilst Sarah Prescott gained 3 A grades. BTEC students James Booth, Leah Chapman, Owen Jones, James Norman and Ellie Saunders all achieved 3 Distinction* grades.Headteacher, Dominic Mackenzie, said: “Once again, we are delighted with the performance of our students across Years 12 and 13. ”There have been some outstanding individual successes and we wish all students the very best for their futures, wherever that may be. Formby High School is proud of the contributions made by staff and students, as we continue to promote an exceptional quality of education.“Mrs Pamela Bell, Chair of Governors, added: ”Congratulations to the students on achieving such impressive results this year. Well done and good luck in your future careers and university courses next year. “I would also like to offer the Governors’ thanks to all the staff for their hard work in preparing the students so thoroughly for their examinations.”While Range High School announced they were equally delighted with the full pass rate and increase in the number of top grades from their students. Headteacher Graham Aldridge said: “This year group had the pressure of a changed structure to the A-level course, with all exams being taken at the end of the year. ”I would like to congratulate them and thank all their staff and their families whose support has contributed to their success.“
